What age will a rooster mate

Hi, can anyone tell me at what age a rooster will start to mate?

Depends on a lot of variables. Breed, individual maturity, flock dynamics and so forth.

Our Rhode Island Cockerels was jumping the pullets this morning. He's not even 5 months old. But, he's big for his age and the cock of the walk, so it figures.
