Got this chick in a hatchery surprise from cackle. I would love any insight as to what I received, he or she was hatched on 4/11. I think it may be naragansett but I am probably wrong, lol.

My first thought is Bronze broad breasted....and this is cause I had them and that is what they looked like.

Are the feathers more grey, dull black or copper? You probably won't know that until they get a little older tho. From what I find the grey and dull black are more the narragansett, if more copper it is probably bronze broad breasted.

They seem to be copper colored on the down, the feathers coming in are grey an black so far. Also is there a way to sex them at this age? Any help would be appreciated

Alas, bronzes and Narragansetts look the same until about six or eight weeks old. When the secondaries come in, the Narragansetts will gradually lighten. Until then, good luck....

. Actually, if its a Broad-breasted bronze, you should be able to tell fairly quickly cause it will grow like a teenager.
