I am on the exact opposite..

I dont mind nick names and my x mil does.. so when my x and I were picking names. I wanted mathew and matt for short.. he flipped.. gave me this lecture on not wanting nick names and his mother stood right by him agreeing.. we named him bryce. .. so he is my baby and I call him Brycie.. not really shorter but my name for him.. so he gives him this lecture on how his name is Bryce and gives the same one to his sister on how she should call him by his name.. she calles him that too.. I think that he needs to take the stick out.. and lighten up a little. Catch a little of the fun.

as for your situation.. maybe she justs wants to have something special with her..

My BIL calls my parents "Sir" and Ma'am". We've never been able to break him of it, so now mom just laughs it off.

Yes I have several differences with my MIL but I have never call her a name in front of her or in front of my kids. I expect my children to respect their grandmother no matter if they agree with what she does or says. This goes for everyone including teachers, peers, friends, etc.

The saying goes, never call or treat anyone any other way then how you want to be called or treated. If they don't treat you that way then you are the better person and can look at yourself in a good way in the mirror in the morning.

Maybe it is just me but I would be appalled if my children acted this way.

really? i feel that way too,,but she EARNED it,,,and your not "starting" nothin,,hehe,,,but lets see,,,ya,, she STOLE her grandkids belongings, she has STOLEN money from me, she,,,,,well it goes on,, but when a grammy STEALS her grankids cloths,crib, and things like that,,,,,what i called her was VERY nice
