What are Musk Ducks?

I thought they looked like a turtle & muscovie cross. Something reptilian looking about them.

There are also Oregon Mini Geese....developed (I believe) by Holderread.

I wouldn't mind some of those Musk Ducks. They are God-awful-looking but kind of cool at the same time. LOL

I still remember the first time I saw one as little kid. It was a male one, so had the saggy inflatable bag under its chin. Way ugly (hate to say that about a duck....). I was scared, fascinated and horrified at the same time, LOL.

Thanks grawg. I have most all of what I posted still. Just not near the numbers .No more than 2prs of any breeders. I will try to post more photos or revive the old post and update it a little. I wanted to get pygmy geese this year but some redbreasted and greater magellan geese ate my money up for this year.

But aint that what next year is for.

Everyone should post pics of their avairies and birds. C,mon Dr Todd Step up to the plate! Lets see some pics of YOUR enclosures or your avairies with YOUR African Geese inside.

Also just curious 70%cocoa .Have you ever seen any of your pink-eared ducks in the wild ? They are AWESOME little buggers!! Too bad so hard to keep. I loved it when I went there in 92 and 97 for 2 weeks each time. A great friend of mine took me there.(Cairns and the surrounding areas) Beautiful country!!! Went diving, fished for" barras" on the river(douglas) did a walkabout or two but mainly Marlin fished. Caught a grander on my B-day. Best time of MY life!!! Sorry if I got off topic. Happens alot when I talk to an "Aussie. " I forget where im at.

This is what my African pygmy geese look like. The male is more colorful. We keep ours inside a greenhouse in a kiddie pool.

Destinduck - I have once seen a pair of Pink Eared Ducks. We have a wetland near us and I went there with my parents once (they are avid bird watchers) and my Mum spotted them. They are pretty unusual looking ducks too, with the squared-off bill.
