What are poultry staples?

I didn't know there was specific "poultry staples." I just use 1/2" or 1" staples and a staple gun to attach poultry wire, or wire mesh.

Here are poultry staples. They are of much heavier gauge and installed with a hammer. I just bought 1 lb for less than $3.00 at my Home Improvement Store.

They are commercial grade construction grab staple... they are deep and ridged so they don't pull out... not like a hand stapler. I've seen my husband yank on it... it ain't moving!
