What are the best chickens to get for really dark eggs?

which marans variety are you thinking of?

To be honest I dont really know. I have only seen one variety so far. Which are the red and black roosters with mostly black hens. What other color varieties are there?

I love the Golden Cuckoo Marans (I have a pullet and a cockeral)

I also would love to have some Blue Copper Marans someday.

I think black copper was the name of the variety I seen.

I have a black copper feather footed...uhhh ROOSTER. who is at the moment having a blast with 2 buddies making a total mess out of a mound of sod I brought in for a snack. I'm sure DBF is not gonna be too keen on the holes I've put in the yard. I'll just plant the sod back tomorrow. nicely trimmed. ahhh scratch that. i'll have to sweep it up off the linoleum first. yeah. a mess but they are having fun!!! oh and a blue splash marans. there's a bunch of varieties

With Marans there are a lot of colors to choose from. I have had Cuckoo, Black, Black Copper, and Birchin.

And my Cuckoo's eggs (in the middle; the others are Sicilian Buttercups and I'm not sure what...maybe Faverolles):

I have Black Copper Marans and my very first Wheaten Marans Eggs.

Before you buy do a little research that way you know what you are getting.

XD is there anything different about marans other then the plural name and brown eggs thats different then other chickens?
