What are the odds?

I just reread that, and I wrote one car. That was supposed to say one cat, but theres one car that holds a special place in my heart too! My purple jeep cherokee classic. RIP baby!
My "pet car" was an old orangey-copper Opel Cadet wagon. She was appropriately named "Pumpkin," and everybody who knew her loved her. Pumpkin and I were the tagalong on countless band trips throughout high school. At one point, we crammed in six kids (including two who should really count twice,) a bass drum, the glockenspiel, a dozen assorted clarinets and saxophones, a bass clarinet, an alto clarinet, the trunk with all the drum paraphernalia and a sousaphone with an oversized case. Someone out there has pictures ... I wish they'd shared!

Too bad we dont live closer! I'd totally meet up for some coffee and b.s.!! The horse shaped hole in my heart encompasses many, many horses. I've got 2 dogs that hold a special place, one car, and 3 chickens. One hamster and one rat too I guess. Kaycee and mr. Rat. Lol.

I had a long day of adulting.... work then cleaning. I got through all of it though! I might have had a little help, from mr. Mark, but that's neither here nor there:cool:;)

SOOOOO glad you're enjoying yourself! I love storytelling, especially when the stories are true. Fiction ain't got nothing on some of these real life stories.

It ain't weird you talk to him still. I still see my dog around the house. Standing in the hallway, or sitting in the room. Loosing her was horrible, but I couldn't watch her suffer anymore. Her mind was obviously on to the next plane of life, but her body refused to let go. I had to carry her outside to go potty, and hand feed her, if she decided to eat, her mashed up food. I know I'll never have another dog like her, and I'm not sure I'm ok with that, but I am at the same time. I only wish my newest son could have known her.

I'll spend all my free time traveling down memory lane with you if youd like! If you're ever in colorado message me and well get together!
I may find myself in Reno at some point, visiting family ... Colorado isn't too far off the route! And the offer goes both ways ... If you ever find yourself visiting our nation's capitol, let me know. I'm close enough that we could go out for some real Maryland steamed crabs ... and the Atlantic Ocean is well worth the trip!

I've been over the breed standard for Appaloosa's at least fifty times, and NOWHERE can I find the notation fo that "bone-jarring trot." That really puzzles me, because they ALL seem to have it! On top of the signature trot, my Billy had razor-sharp withers. I didn't bareback him too often, 'cause his trot could seriously hurt! Joey's a bit better, mainly because he tends a bit towards "pudgy," but his trot definitely makes you want to nudge him up to a canter/lope ... his is a dream!

I think it's that they have a little bit more of an upright shoulder than most riding horses. They have more of a draft trot because of it.

My pet car was a 1970 blue Monte Carlo with landau doors. VRRRROOOOMMMMM VRRRROOOOMMMMM.
I drove a white '72 'Carlo with a dark red laundau top for a bit. Depending on how well she was behaving at the moment, we called her either "The Lady" or "The Witch." That's one beast I would LOVE to have back! What a smooooooth ride!

I had a CB radio and call sign Little Magnolia (lol). Boy, I miss using that thing on long drives through Texas.

I was the Bel Air Brat (That's BA, Maryland, not California!) We can't use 'em around here anymore because some idjit with a super-powered base station took over the airways spouting incomprehensible gibberish, and no one can get a word in edgewise. After three years, I just gave up, and now, nobody uses 'em anymore. I miss it, too!

When is any drive through texas NOT long? :lau:lau

I had an old green jeep cherokee that I called the old man. Even after a full front end suspension rebuild, he still groaned, creaked and popped the first drive on cold mornings:old
Maybe ... but I think it's more likely that they're part pogo-stick! :ya
Or maybe just part kangaroo? I think I've been on pogo sticks with less jolt than some appys. Never ridden a kangaroo though, not that I wouldn't try if given the chance though ..:ya
