I have noticed random black spots "wart like" spots on the combs of my 22 month old Red Stars. Can any help identify these spots. See photo. Thanks in advance.

I agree it looks like fowl pox, the dry form. It's a virus, usually transmitted by mosquitoes. Usually it run its course and disappears in 3 weeks, and the chicken is then immune to it. If they only have small spots like that and don't get infected, you should have no problem. You can dab them with Betadine or Neosporin (use the latter near the eye) to prevent secondary infection if you wish.

Problems can arise, though they usually don't, if the lesions occur in the mouth or throat, or near the eye. Wet pox, a serious condition, is from pox in the mouth or throat. I had one pullet get a nasty eye infection from a bunch of lesions near her eye, but mostly the lesions just ran their course and went away. I did put Neosporin on each lesion once, then I just kept an eye on them.

Thank you all very much. I felt that is what it was I just am new to raising chickens I can use all the help I can get that you again.
