What are these?

They do sound a bit like ducks...

Mini is still here with her mirror and her stuffed animal. Ideal has ducks and geese again and I was shopping at premier one today. She is much more comfortable these days and is back to laying an egg a day. So duck math requires sisters soon. She was quacking up a storm at them but she is at the old house with is about 150 yards from where the geese have been showing up. I will keep an eye out for them. I live a mile or so from the new Tiger Woods golf course and I suspect they went walkabout from there. I will call them tomorrow and see if they have geese on their ponds.

They are invasive to Texas from what someone else posted once.

Yes. I have been doing some research. It appears people brought them in as ornamental and as they multiplied they moved away to new territory. Apparently, the climate and food supply here is very good for them. I live not too far as the goose flies from some new golf developments I expect they are escapees. It appears at least in TX they are considered an invasive species.

Several years ago a pair showed up at a river where I trout fish. Within days they ran off all the mallards and Canada geese. They were noisy and aggressive for sure.

Yikes I have not seen them today hope they stay away. If they come back, they might have to go away for good. They are very pretty but I just ordered new ducks and a pair of geese today. Don't want my lings attacked for sure.
