what are y'all saving from the wild to deal with coming crisis?

Great article. No where in there does it make the claim that Mt. St Helen's emitted more co2 than our entire history of our use of fossil fuels, which is what you're trying to claim.
I realized that too when I read it, I had heard or read something closer to my former claim somewhere before, but couldn't find that source. There was more to the first, like how ash also can be acidic and cause even more CO² to be released from where it falls. Without finding that source, and just using this one. It still is showing that a medium volcano can produce as much CO² or more than mankind is producing annually now, or that volcanic activity since the beginning of the industrial revolution had been producing more CO² than mankind had. Either way 600 million tons in a week is a lot. It's not the CO² that's behind our weather anyway, it's the Sun. It' output due to sunspots and solar flares varies, but we can't tax the Sun, or fix it, so the studies of that aren't often on the news.

So perhaps you should only offer explanations that really are based on fact and not “I heard it somewhere.” And I will repeat what I said earlier, that what we need the most to deal with an impending crisis is the ability to put our differences and personal beliefs aside and cooperate to prevail and survive. Just saying!

Wrong.

Here are the numbers.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the world’s volcanoes, both on land and undersea, generate about 200 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, while our automotive and industrial activities cause some 24 billion tons of CO2 emissions every year worldwide.

As you can see, the amount of co2 that volcanoes produce annually is a pittance compared to the amount of c02 that humans put in the air. The numbers are.not.even.close. I don't know where you are pulling that weekly 600 million number from.

Does anyone know where I can get the kind of comfrey that resews itself? I can't remember which it is, but I've had a hard time finding it.. my chickens, quail and all LOVE it.

If you get root stock it won't re-sow itself because the seeds are sterile, but it will spread. If you want it to sow itself from seed (like I do) an heirloom-type seed company should have seeds. A quick search brought these folks up - https://www.groworganic.com/non-gmo-and-organic-seeds/herb-seeds/comfrey-seeds.html

I've got a Comfrey patch established and will be adding more.
Once established, it can be harvested every three weeks.
It comes back every year. (Mine didn't even go dormant last winter)
All it requires is water and chicken manure to thrive.
So if the SHTF, I'll be able to sustain my flock and eat the roosters.
Of course, they'll be a lot of bandits attempting to steal your birds.

Bonus: I make new plants from root cuttings and they sell well.
It's also fabulous for making an ointment that is great for many skin ailments.

However, it has toxic substances called pyrrolizidine alkaloids that damage the liver and can lead to death. Comfrey is no longer sold in the U.S., except in creams or ointments. The United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Germany also have bannedthe sale of oral products containing comfrey

We are not at all self-sufficient. I keep a supply of foodstuffs and necessities on hand, not because of the Great Oncoming Disaster, whatever it might be, but because my nearest Walmart is 30 miles away, 60 miles roundtrip, and the idea of needing an ingredient halfway through a recipe drives me to disrraction.

In the event of an emergency, if we lost electricity, we would soon have no water, because we are on a well and the pump requires power. I keep a case of bottled water on hand that would last a day or two and hope the power would come back on in short order; so far it always has. I also keep buckets of water on hand for flushing (you use it to fill up the tank and then flush normally; don't pour it into the bowl).

Watching the news, disasters happen quickly and thoroughly. Your two years of food do you no good in a forest fire, tornado or flood when you lose everything and are lucky to escape with your life, children and one pet. The community rallies around and restores you, as we jump in to help others. Whatever happens, we'll be okay. Or not. Either way, we WILL be okay. We know what comes next. We know Who holds our future. Its all good.
The types of emergencies we could have here could easily leave us without electricity and without a route to the store. I am trying to prepare for that. We have one road in and out and two landslide areas that could come down. So, one cannot be too prepared.

Those same alkaloids are in honey, milk and plenty more.
Anything can be toxic if you force enough down someone's throat, even water.
There are studies done on thousands of animals by qualified authorities that did nothing but improve the health of the animals with zero negative effects.
I documented some of them here.
If you can grow your own animal feed, you're going to cost a lot of influential corporations a lot of money. Of COURSE they're going to highlight overdoses, to demonize Comfrey.
It worked!
