what are y'all saving from the wild to deal with coming crisis?

weather.com forecasts temperatures for my area 15 days out and frequently corrects the forecast as the 15th day nears. It appears to me that if weather forecasters have trouble with temperatures that are 15 days away they would have a similar problem guessing temperatures 25, 50, or 100 years away.
Call me a fool if you must but it appears that the politician that promotes global warming (climate change) is being supported by special interests. Long term weather forecasts are fake news!

Sure if you have nothing better to do. Also, after you find their names make sure they are real people whose research has been peer reviewed and published in real professional journals. Who knows they could be a bunch of bored teenagers in China.

Finnur Palsson, project leader. University of Iceland, Institute of Earth Sciences. Cited numerous times, which means he has published papers, which I think are listed on this link.

His research is cited elsewhere. It's not a fluke.

As far as generators go propane or natural gas is the way to go. Burns extremely clean and will not clog or gum up carbs or eat fuel lines like ethanol. No cleaning carbs the next year or using fuel stabilizer. And it stores indefinitely no worries about it going bad like gas. One 100lb propane tank would last an average weather event with an average homeowners generator

I think that depends on what state you live in. I believe Texas is one of those states.
I think the whole magnetic reversal might throw some into a tizzy. LOL! I thought about mentioning that, but we have enough to deal with now.

But still you need to consider the actual cost. Gas generators are more affordable for people Who are not “rolling in dough.”

Five hundred gallon propane tank, Generac generator, venison, squirrel, rabbit, rivers full of fish/frogs/turtles, nuts, wild berries in season -- I made a promise long ago that I could/would provide shelter and food. I've been able to do so for 55 years and barring ill health see no reason I can't do so for the next 55.

I hope you're not thinking about those monster generators that run on natural gas. Propane generators cost about the same as equivalent gas generators. Add a little more cost for the propane tank and fuel. You can actually get generators that run on both propane and gas.

Never thought myself to be super ignorant (just a wee ignorant), but I've never heard the terms of solar minimum and maximum.
I shall have to read up.

This thread gets away from me fast. Didn't read last few pages again.

Anyone have a water collection system?
We have a decent idea how we want to build one, but there's always tips and tricks one learns the hard way.
I cant get past the bird poop and bug contamination.... Dont know how that would work.
