I hope you're not thinking about those monster generators that run on natural gas. Propane generators cost about the same as equivalent gas generators. Add a little more cost for the propane tank and fuel. You can actually get generators that run on both propane and gas.

But you get more running hours out of the gasoline. So it is a bit more economical. Have you ever used a generator or just read about it?

Those monster generators you refer to are whole house back up generators that can run off of natural gas or propane. And if you look at how many pounds of gas they use in a 24 hour period you would realize that gasoline is more efficient.

I researched it and found they are more expensive to run. I was thinking about trading my gas generator for a propane but decided it wasn’t worth the additional cost. It’s also easier to fill up a gas can than find a place to exchange a propane tank.

That's what I'm reading now. In retrospect maybe I should have gone with a diesel. Eventually I want to run a generator on a wood gasifier.

Opossums, raccoons, ground hogs/woodchucks are all highly edible - even rats in a pinch. If it flies, eat it - no crows, vultures, or raptors. Acorns, properly treated, are edible. Mushrooms - educate yourself about these. Some can kill others can send you on a time travel journey.
