I had to share some outside pics of my 1st Welsh Harlequin ducks. I'd forgotten how fast they grow!View attachment 3436235View attachment 3436234View attachment 3436233View attachment 3436232

In last pic, can you see the 4 boys? Now, if only they didn't act so scared o f me, LOL.
Oh I love them! I just got two Welsh harlequin a month ago and I’m in love with them even though they aren’t In love with me lol.
Hatched out a couple Swedish blue (maybe?) two weeks ago. The eggs were from a mixed flock I believe.

I'm adding these two snuggly cuties - a splash laced and a gold laced wyandotte. These are my first wyandottes, and they are already making their presence known! They were home brooded and added to the flock at around 5 weeks old, at which point the flock already had a couple of 5-week-old buff orpingtons that were raised by a broody there (and integrated from day one). And yet... The newcomers are bossing the crap out of their little peers! And they get picked on by the elders less than the buffs are, despite being the new intruders. That's gotta be breed differences, otherwise this should've played out the other way around...

I just got two beautiful started pullets that I’m integrating to my flock now. They’re shy and flighty atm so only blurry picks but I can’t wait to show them in this contest.
They are Blue Copper Marans and Black Silverudd named Laverne & Shirley.

I also hatched out two chicks: Bielefelder pullet and a Bielefelder/Lemon Cuckoo Niederrheiner cockerel named Ritzie and Chance

I’ve added… A LOT this year. But here are the three that are not out with the flock yet. Ayam cemani(Banshee) baby with my hen, Millie Fleur D’Uccle(Ankou) is the darker of the two chicks and the lighter one is what the breeder thinks is a Belgian d’Anver(Habergeiss)

Ankou got rejected by my silkie so she’s got some head injuries but after some sleep and heat she recovered fine. Eating and drinking… walking around and running up my sleeve

We were only going to get 6 this year, but we lost two of our main flock…and ended up with 9 new hatchery chicks plus 3 BYM my hen hatched (if boys, thinking 2 are, they’ll be soup once they get to crowing…unfortunately we can’t keep them). I am also brooding 7 for a friend, who is taking his this weekend.

We have:
Lavender Orpington (isn’t as friendly as our other Orpington but beautiful)
Bielefelder (my son’s favorite, she is super friendly and likes being held)
Blue or Splash Laced Red Wyandotte (chill and not skiddish)
Cream Legbar (tiny and bold, will hop right up and roost on my finger)
Barred Plymouth Rock (friendly and likes to be around us)
Naked Neck (my absolute favorite…such a sweetie!)
Blue Australorp (HUGE for her age, friendly but not cuddly, cool feathers look almost laced)
Olive Egger (FBCM mix, has booted black legs, fearless and friendly with both people and the hens surprisingly)
Americana/EE (friendly, same color pattern as the Bielefelder, bigger than expected, very smart and inquisitive)
Plus our 3 BYM.

We are in love. The big girls have been kind, except for our broody Salmon Faverolles who goes from trying to mother them to trying to attack them. Integration has been interesting…

So far this year about a month ago, I got 1 Rhode Island Blue and a Partridge Rock both are pullets and about 20 weeks old now. This past weekend I got a trio of White Leghorn Bantams. The Leghorns were a little pricy, but I like them, I'll probably try to hatch some later on if they do good.

I wanted to add 3 to my flock of 9 ... even dozen. Well the stupid minimum is 4! and they were older chicks so only paid $2 a piece at TSC!. I wasn't going to add any till fall but chicken math, bargain, and 3 weeks old to boot!
They are in flock no blood just pecking order stuff and this time they went in at dark šŸŒ‘ BONUS!
