What are you adding to your flock this year?

Whatever my broodys hatch for me. I'm hoping to hatch some from my own flock, my healthiest ones. Shhh just don't tell my hubby

No longer a problem as I decided to purchase chicks vs incubate. I noticed some sad faced emojis at my initial response so I decided to text this update.

10 BA's and four - straight run; ummm, umm, geesh I can not find my pre-paid order email receipt; ugghhhh.

Wait, I recall, 4 barnevelders (pullets). That's it, by jove!

I am impressed! Greenfire farms shipped these chicks from FL to CA yesterday, and they R here. I wasn't even done setting up the new brooder!

I'd like to get some Blue Australorps or Lavender Orpingtons, eggs or day olds within driving distance. There is a chance someone may cancel their Lav Orp order when we pick up our chicks this weekend. Not holding my breath though.

Looking to get some Orpington’s in the spring, need a broody breed as don’t want to hatch in the incubator this year

Ended up getting them a lot earlier than expected two lavender orpingtons and 1 partridge Orpington

In last pic, can you see the 4 boys? Now, if only they didn't act so scared o f me, LOL.

That's pretty darn awesome!!!

And of course a few days after boasting perfection, our Alpha died! Have no words...very sad, tremendous loss. So now the flock configuration is changing, and yes will be adding new leghorns SIGH. Need to bring some joy back

And I'm putting 12 eggs in the incubator from another breeder in a bit, LOL.

I've only incubated chicks a handful of times. This is 1st time for ducks.
