I decided to change my apple pie filling and wanted to share:

4 large apples peeled and cut into thin 1/4" slices
1/2 cup sugar in the raw
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 tbsp flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
pinch salt
dash nutmeg
1 tbsp melted butter

Combine and pour into your pie crust, put crust top on, slits for steam to escape then brush with egg wash.

Bake 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes

I was in a hurry tonight to get supper on the table so these aren't the best loaves I've made and it's not the best photo either, but here's four more loaves of DunHagan standard whole wheat bread.

There is nothing that says "home" like the smell of bread baking. Every Sunday night as the kids are drifting off to sleep. A slice of the bread baked the night before makes it just a bit easier to get up on a Monday morning.

Great looking pie and bread. I know what you mean about the smell in the house - so wonderful. I was thinking a nice big scoop of vanilla ice cream on that pie would make it perfect!

Made some more of my Dutch Oven bread this weekend. I just love that stuff

Very nice, Alan.
