What are you baking now?

I tried the 10 egg pound cake recipe. It was ok but I will change up the ingredients and use butter instead of shortening.

I have only ever used butter. Crisco is poison. trans fats evilness

Wow, it's been quite awhile since anyone posted on this thread. If anyone would prefer that I not post in it anymore, just say so and I won't bump it after this post....I won't be offended, I'll just make my own thread if I bake anything. :D Anyway, I made chocolate chip scones yesterday, they are quite good. Recipe: http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/scone-nibbles-recipe Without glaze With glaze....the glaze makes these even better...I used milk instead of water though.
I made your scones this morning and they were amazing! I changed it up a bit. I used dried cranberries instead of the chocolate chips and added a Tbs of orange zest. I didn't use a glaze, instead I brushed with an egg wash and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. So delicious! Thanks for sharing :drool

A fellow BYCr and friend has heritage pigs and butchered a couple. She had the butcher save the fat over the kidneys and I rendered it in a crock pot and then filtered it through cheese cloth. the little bits of left over meat made great chicken treats too.

I am making sure I am on her list for next time too....It is the most amazing stuff!
