DD and I had a contest yesterday. We used the same sticky buns recipe and competed to see who's would come out better. Well, mine was the favorite, BUT, I have to say... this was her first time making them and she whoops me in the cookie baking all the time. So she is definitely a real winner!

Yesterday I finally found a recipe for ciabatta bread that has that chewy moist texture I've been longing for.....

This is the website for the recipe I used. http://www.kingarthurflour.com/stuff/contentmgr/files/7512947c75dd4ce76f3a611041c1fe40/miscdocs/baguette-ciabatta.pdf

I
think the trick was to let the Biga sit for about 24 hours at a cool temp. My house is between 62-66 degrees and I used no added warmth to get the bread to rise throughout the whole process.

I kept the bowl covered with plastic and used a rubberband to make sure no air got in and I had no problems with the biga/dough developing a crust while raising.

Oh my, Tammy, I am seriously

here. Your ciabatta bread turned out gorgeous! Gotta love those King Arthur site recipes.

I'm trying a new sourdough recipe today. I actually made this one last week, great flavor, but I would like it to rise more. I'll be back later with pics IF it turns out better this time.

Thank you Kim. I have a biga brewing right now but made out of white whole wheat flour this time. We only have one small chunk leftover from the bread I made yesterday....and there are only two of us!!

debiraymond...I don't think the directions to your house came through with your post!

Took me awhile, the batteries were dead not the camera and the pie was half gone.

PEACHES AND CREAM CHEESE PIE

3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/4 oz. pkg. dry vanilla pudding (not instant)
3 tbsp. butter
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 can sliced peaches
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. reserved juice
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon (I put in more cinnamon because we like it)
Combine first 7 ingredients and beat 2 minutes at medium speed; pour into greased 9 inch pie pan. Pour over batter 1 (15-20 ounce) can sliced peaches, well drained (reserve juice). Combine cream cheese, sugar, and juice. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed; spoon into within 1 inch of edge of pie. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until crust is golden brown. Store in refrigerator.

Cupcakes! The latest Foodnetwork magazine had some great recipes. There is a fancy cupcake shop in town 45 miles away that DH is addicted to. But we don't get there all that often so I have been trying some out at home.
