What are you baking now?

Ozark Hen, I think you can skip the bean-o if you only have a couple of pieces. Which is why I cut them SUPER small!

When I made the brownie version (on the fly, threw in flour etc) I ate too much in one day, and I probably should've had a bean-o first

Just a quick tip: If you're wanting to eat beans (canned or dried) and fear the 'gas' byproduct...one way to minimize this risk is to RINSE the beans of the soaking water! If canned, rinse the beans REALLY WELL before cooking/mashing/etc. All of the undigestible starches end up in the 'water'....so if you rinse them thoroughly before cooking, you GREATLY minimize the potential for 'gas'.

Although...having made a black bean fudge recipe....it was awesome and I also over-indulged....talk about FIBER!!!

But that recipe used coffee too! DOUBLE WHAMMY! But not a lot of gas!!!

Hope this helps!

I made the Red Velvet cookies with the cream cheese filling, and OH MY GOSH!! Going to make more for the family get together Xmas eve. Making the Mountain Dew Cake, someone took my lemon pudding home with them to make for their boyfriend, and I didn't know it until I went to get my last package . . .so doing that for CE too. I also am going to chop up peaches, pears, kiwi, and a nice red apple for a "chutney" and cut flour tortillas in wedges, brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake for a few min. This is a really good healthier dessert. That will counteract the chocolate fountain I have that is in high demand by the grandchildren. Pretzel sticks, marshamallows and bananas are a favorite of it!! Also will make gump bread rolls for the ham.

just got the fruit cake out of the oven now it is cooling( I hate fruit cake but dh loves it)

Last night I made a ton of candy...Choc.covered everything...pnb balls, mounds, millionaires, pnb sandwiches & pretzels. Today it is Gumps bread and Christmas dinner. Best wishes to the BYC family for a Merry Christmas:D

P.S. In reference to the "bean" issue. My GM taught me to add a scant (good ole pinch) amount of baking soda. Watch out as it will foam up...thats all the "poots" comming out as my son would say when he was little...lol
