My boss was so nice and gave me Friday off

for a nice 3 day weekend. So this weekend was able to get some baking done - And everything turned out GREAT!!

Made homemade yogurt with regular milk and a different culture and it is perfect. Put some in my strainer this morning to make either Greek style yogurt or may be some cheese from it - we'll have to see how well it drains. Also, made some whole wheat bread from the one recipe that I have and everything was great since I really watched the rise time. Out of the recipe I made one loaf of bread, six hamburger buns and 6 hot dog buns. Saturday night hamburgers were good with homemade potato salad and fresh canned Baked Beans that we canned last weekend. Was wishing that I had some Buffalo Meat to try - but the regular burger was good.

Also, made some really wonderful French Bread from a book that I picked up on the bargain table at Barnes & Noble for $8 bucks. Nice chewy crust and wonderful texture. Think things went better since it was a beautiful weekend in sunny Northern California with temps in the 70's so bread could rise on the counter.

That is about all in the baking department - but was glad to get that much done since there were weeds to pull and vegetables to get planted in the garden.

It's been almost 6 months since Thanksgiving and I've had a craving for a pumpkin roll for a week now. Is it bad that I have one cooling right now? It'll be almost 80 degrees tomorrow, but I'll be having a cup of coffee and a cold slice of pumpkin roll

There is no hope for me!
