What are you baking now?

I apologize for not reading the whole thread .. but I have a question.

Just recently got interested in baking (while living in an apt with an electric oven) ..

We had a gas range/oven installed in our new house.

NOTHING comes out right now and I'm so frustrated. I did some research and learned that humidity is higher when you cook with gas, so it's almost impossible to get good crust on breads .. grrrrrr.

Anyway, what are some of your tricks for those of you that cook with gas ovens. I want that golden brown crust and sometimes you just want nice crispy "whatevers" ..

I grew up with gas and love it, lower the temps and wait a little longer to get there, to crisp not burnt. I bake in my oven all the time, but our temp settings are woren off, so on the settings I could not tell ya, sorry. I don't measure like a recipe tells me so.

I'm so glad that weekend is here so I can get baking done. I did make a loaf of French Bread on Monday after work but with the 3 hours total raising time I was pulling the loaf out when I went to bed at 10:00pm. The upside was there was a nice fresh loaf of bread in the morning. My husband is going to Mexico for a week of fishing so guess I just have to eat all the baked goods myself - What a shame

Baked these this morning... MissPrissy's Banana Nut Recipe but I added cranberries and choc. chips this morning. I also made a mistake... I FORGOT TO ADD THE SUGAR IN THE RECIPE!

I hate when I do stupid stuff like that! So I gotta make some more WITH SUGAR!
