Ok, don't laugh, but I put your picture as my computer background as inspiration. I have to tell myself, this is what I want my utility room to look like, so I have to do the work to get there.
thank you!!!

Any particular apple to use? We have green ones in orchard right now and guess they are either granny smith, Macintosh or Fuji. I have to look at the tag.
In 8 days I have canned (the first 3 were from lat weekend, all others from the past 2 days, but for monetary purposes I put it all together in one list for 8 days)):
Tomorrow I'll have the peach pit jelly done, if I don't decide to go ahead & do it today. Total cost...... Around $55 for 58 jars- SO FAR!!! (if you divide the peach jam in the 24oz jar into 3- 8 oz jars like the others)
I figure after tomorrow or later, I'll be adding another 5 or 6 jars of the peach pit.

Going to try and make some tonight.

I think mine are Mac's. The tree was here when we bought the house 7 years ago. They are a tart, crip apple....a little sweeter than a Granny but just as crisp.

Oooooo so pretty I love the color of them. I love beets, husband on the other hand does not. So have to convince him to put in more next year so I can do a bunch like you. Did you pickle them or do plain?
, we ate a lot and I canned alot and all together I canned 30 quarts... I dont know what its called I do to them, my aunt told me to do 1 part water, 1 part white vinegar and 1 part sugar, boil it then can... we like it
We like em plain too, cook em and eat em up! Oh and Thank You.
My vanillia extract is coming along very nicely. Starting to take on a deeper color. I put 10 beans into a 1.75 ltr vodka bottle.
I am, however, having a hard time keeping my DH from taking a swig when I'm not looking! I must admit it smells wonderful. I'll be hiding the bottle somewhere else now
I got lucky and found 6 beautiful bottles at the local Agway with those great rubber gasket closers. I'll be making some labels and hope they're ready by Christmas! How are all you guys making out with your vanilla extract?
