Wish I had something like that for all of mine or even a root cellar or something but for now I guess the pantry will do, just kinda scattered here and there.

Froze 15 qts. of corn, & put up a pint plus 8 half-pints of Plum Jelly. Then put up my first ever pickles

I put a grape leaf in the bottom on about half, since I read it will help them stay crispy and I want to check that out.

lots and lots and lots of pickles, about 18 pints of each! I still have about 1/4 bushel to do, but they are two days old now, not sure how well they'll hold up. We don't have AC, their box is in the mudroom with the lid on - it's probably been around 80 degrees in there. Are they still worth canning??

Every thing looks beautiful!!

Can any one give me a dill pickle rcipe. I made some a few weeks ago using a library book. Someone els has the book now . I want to can them, not refrigerater pickles.

Thanks Lisa

So I played with the recipe a bit as i didnt have dill heads and wanted more bite to them. I used presliced jalapenos and added whole dried chilis in addition to the crushed ( I do this with my pickled asparagus as well)Here they are. I doubled the amount but one jar broke

Thanks for the great idea! I'm sitting here listening for 9 pints of sweet pickle relish to "ping"

And I'm so very glad that the rest of those cucumbers didn't go to waste afterall!

Now I need to call the farm market where I'd ordered more, and cancel that order. These little guys went further than I expected.

Ok, so I didn't do the canning, but had to brag on the DW, she's been canning all week. Green beans, black-eyed peas, home-made spaghetti sauce, bread & butter pickles, dill pickles, home-made vegetable soup and pickled green tomatoes. Just starting on another kettle of spaghetti sauce, so going to up most of the night it looks like!
