Your jam does look very good! I'm curios to know what variety of strawberries and how many of the the plants you planted to get more than enough to can and eat. I've never really dealt with strawberry plants.
I hadn't dealt with them either. But I planted around 20 everbearing plants of Ozark Beauty in a raised bed lined with weedblock fabric (A must!!)... Once they started to grow, they put on a few blooms that I pinched off so the plants would get big and healthy.. Then they put on runners and set out new plants everywhere!!! I tried to cut them all off to keep my neat looking rows.. HA!! I couldn't keep up. So I finally gave up and now my raised bed is more of a strawberry patch than neatly lined rows.. Plus they overflowed into my yard a little. That works out ok though. I have a 3' fence around the bed to keep the chickens out. So whatever spread into the yard I let the chickens have, if the lawnmower doesn't get them first!! So 20 plants turned into a bunch.. I did pull a few of the new ones up this spring. I killed them versus replanting them.. If I had been prepared to have another raised bed I wouldn't have. DH told me to put them in the garden, but I like my raised bed with weedblock. I hate weeding!!!
