What are you canning now?

this is so funny. I know it is not for you but read it all again in a couple years. You are making your point though. They learn through their stomachs? LOL Beats yelling and nagging doesn't it?
You know mine always weed eats my flowers!! Even bushes he put in himself the year before!!

I finally gave up and have a whole lot less of flowers in my yard. Now you have me trying to figure out a way to "train" him.

I've been quiet about it and the kids don't even know what's going on. So on Tuesday dinner when the eldest said, "Wow, this is really bland tonight!" I just said, "Is it?" and kept eating.
He kept staring at his plate and shoveling it in.

We had pizza last night. We ran out of sauce. I smeared it really thin across the 2 crusts. He loves them to have extra sauce, and looked at me. I could see the question form in his eyes. And then he turned and started setting the table. We're getting closer to a resolution.

I'm a patient woman. He's a smart man. He'll come around.

LMAO this is so funny! sounds exactly like something I would do. but I just wouldn't have the patience to wait on "dh" to figure out what he did wrong. lol but he mostly leaves my herbs and plants alone, but I am prepared for punishment if for some reason he decides to get vengefull.

My DH did the same, I planted a butterfly bush about 2 years ago, last spring the goats got in my yard and eat it down to nothing, well this spring it was making a come back. Small stick with leaves on it sticking out of the ground. I usually mow this part of the yard so I didnt have it "marked" off DH hates that. Well he runs it over and I holler at him, he then said you should have "marked" it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. He knows where it is now and makes sure to miss it. If it were up to him there would be nothing but grass everywhere.

Well, I don't have a new Rosemary plant yet. But I have a very contrite hubby. We're getting rain every day this week, so I think I will harvest the straggly branches that are left and then see how the plant recovers.

And now I have 2 pints of cleaned & quartered strawberries ready to make into jam. All from my own 4x8 bed of plants! We've eaten so many that everyone's getting burned out. First time I've been able to save up enough to even think about processing them

I'm going to collect another 2 days worth and then get cooking!

Canned up several jars of Strawberry Jam but it turned out to be a Multi-Purpose jam.

I can use this on biscuits or toast, waffles or pancakes, or even ice cream. It didn't set as well as I wanted it to but that's o.k. it still yummy as ever without all the unnecessary ingredients

That's what I did with some blackberry jelly that didn't set right. The irony is that I overcooked the blackberry syrup I was making, and it gelled!

So I made sandwiches with the syrup and poured the jelly over my pancakes....

Yes, Ozark Hen, he will think now (debate on the twice part, as that implies he thought the first time!)

Haven't made my strawberry jam yet. Mom insists I don't have enough berries to make it worth the effort.

I saw a recipe on food network that just called for two pints of strawberries! First time I actually processed any jam. I had made the freezer jam before but I love having this on my shelf. Well, it only made four small jars and I only have one jar left so time to make some more...need more small jars. LOL

I did that by accident with my elderberry jam. Goes great on pancakes. Didn't want to take the time to reset the jam. 7 pints of syrup.
