Ive been officially cut off from DH ...no more jars! I tried to explain that Ill have a bunch for next year that I wont have to buy! He seems to think 50+ cases is enough? Silly man! Lol

Also, he says everything I make is supposed to be for our family not others...haha I gave gift baskets away for Xmas this past year and everyone loved them! Im doing it again for this year and a few times a year I bring a huge selection of jams and jellies to work to sell...I usually sell 50 in a day or two;) 6$ for 1/2 pints and 10$ for pints...When it only costs me about 2-3$ a jar to make ( including the jar cost) I make a nice little profit;) He doesnt think so...what a pooper! Lol But I say happy wife happy life...leave me alone! Hehe

Does anyone have the food strainer attachment for the kitchen aid mixer and use it for straining off the skins and seeds from cooked tomatoes and apples to make sauces? I was just wondering how it worked for you before I get the attachment? I read about it the other day on a different site and it looks like it would be easier. I already have the food grinder piece so this just attaches onto the end of it, I believe....

I have a kitchen aid, and the grinder attachment, but not the strainer attachment. Instead I have a victorio strainer and i absolutely LOVE it! It has 5 or 6 different blades for different fruits/veggies (a tomato/apple one, a pumpkin one, a salsa one, a small berry one...). It probably isn't as easy as the kitchen aid as it is manual, but the kids love helping with it. I do use my grinding attachment on my kitchen aid for my great grandma's mustard relish though!

9 1/2 pints each of strawberry-riesling wine jam and bumbleberry jam (with a splash of blackberry brandy).

If I have enough energy left tonight, I will make some strawberry lemonade concentrate.

Joined the jams and jellies thread and had to join yall here too! Just started reading, so it's going to take me FOREVER to catch up! Can't wait though! My specialty, so far is wildflower jellies. I can't wait to do some salsas, tomatoes, and beans this year. Oh, and I have already been experimenting with pickling too!
