What are you canning now?

I think it boils down to the fact that when they're young (when you SHOULD be teaching them) it's more work to do so.  Having a little "helper" in the kitchen or the laundry room or wherever often isn't really any help, so parents get impatient, figure it's easier to just do it themselves and before they know it the kid is so old they've missed that opportunity to teach them when learning it would have been "fun" and the kid resents the "work" they're suddenly being burdened with.  And so the cycle begins anew, this time though it's easier to do it themselves because the kid has never had to help before and is throwing a fit over it being "unfair". 

I agree about parents just caving almost instantaniously! I wanted to many times...but thought abought theirs and my future with all the bnefits of their advanced independance...well worth it!

I'm going to go pick some black currents today....and in the freezer they will go! I just found a new place not to far from me that has red, yellow, and black raspberries. Not sure if I can get there today or if I will have to go tomorrow.

I need to go pick blueberries too....why oh why does everything need to ripen at the same time?!?!?!

Picked a half gallon of blackberries yesterday and picked all the plums off my tree. Next to ripen will be Nectarines and peaches.

I hate you.

I can't get any here. It's been so hot the wild one dried up and to by black raspberries is $4 a pound.

I still have currant jelly from last year.

Eleven quarts of tomatoes We have not had the rain needed but these tomatoes have the best flavor ever I have also pickled beets and asparagus

Apple Hill Orchard in Concord. 2.75/lb I just checked the PYO for your county...none near you. You should come out for a visit!

What is wrong with my peppers. No flowers. I did spray them with bug killer stuff but no flowers. Nice and tall but no flowers. Out of 13 plants only one pepper and it's a dinky thing.

What is wrong? What is missing in the soil? What can I dump in there to save these plants or should I just tear them out?
