Not of canning, just tired from canning. I have had to purchase 15 cases of jars this year and I may have to purchase at least 5 more cases. I will be so thankful when the late Fall and Winter arrive

I found an older lady today just a block from our county fair with all of her canning jars for sale. Blue ones, quarts and half gallons...all blue! So naturally, I couldn't pass up her offer!! Today started out bad, woke up to 2 missing ducks, and my husband hit a deer on the way to work. I wondered what would happen next ......................................................................................................................................................................................VOILA! Canning jars!!

Made some Bread and Butter pickles today, much to the delight of my girlfriend's daughter!

She came and picked her jar up and was thrilled to learn that I supersized it for her! LOL

I did 5 pints of peach/orange marmalade, & froze 4 quart baggies of sliced peaches, and made 1 pint of peach honey today. My mom sent me home with a basket of peaches the other day so I had to do something with them. This was my first time with peaches.

I will post it for you tomorrow night, its late and I've got a long, hard day planned tomorrow, is that cool?

Most of the berries wind up on the ground giving the children stained purple feet for the several weeks we have berries. Have you figured out a way to harvest more berries? I've tried laying a sheet on the ground and shaking the branches, but then I wind up with lots of yucky berries or under ripe ones and bird poop mixed in.

These berries ferment and make the birds drunk. ...It's funny to watch a crow hang upside down from a tree with one leg and make the funniest sounds... brings back the good ole days

Don't forget you can do meat as well, and it lasts practically for ever. Just pack in jars tightly, raw or lightly grilled / cooked it does'nt matter, with about 1/4 inch open at top, add 1/4 tsp of salt and process. Tough cuts of beef, fish, chicken pork,,,,,,,,

Boot leather would even be tender after it's processed!
