What are you canning now?

i have one of these guys. Part of its beauty is that there is no gasket. You might check to make sure that you are seating the lid correctly. There will be a mark on the lid that should line up with a mark on the body. You might have some steam leakage if that's not right. These canners are, IMHO, the very best on the market. They are stable and just hum along pretty as you please. Check youtube for videos on how to set up and use this canner, since there are probably some.

Got it. You did oil.

Steam from around the lid is not normal. Clicking and pinging is as the metal heats.

It takes a long time to get to pressure, but you never will with a crack.

All american has a diagnostic program.

Check their site for details. It's a safety issue when you are cooking with pressure.

Make sure you match the arrows on the lid before you start tightening the screw locks.

Do one screw, then the one opposite it. Then the next one over, and the one opposite it. Continue.

Are you boiling with the weight off until steam co.es out the vent..and then waiting 10 minutes before you put the weight on?

I never get much of a crop from rare seeds seeds. Three years ago I got one tomato from their plants and it wasn't the variety it was supposed to be. Two years ago I got a decent crop from one variety (out of seven) but again it was not the variety it was supposed to be. I stuck with seed savers exchange and territorial seed this past year and canned more tomatoes than ever.
