So dumb question time......
Wild blueberries, they are starting to ripen on my place. Started picking last night. They are all falling off with the little stems attached. Do I leave these on or should I remove them before canning them in any way?

As for canning in the hot summer..... it's not that hot here yet. I'm used to TX heat (110*) while canning! It's only 100 tops here right now. But as for dealing with the heat I would always have 2 large fans facing the kitchen with damp towels tied in front of them in addition to the AC being on, set to my usual 85*. This place I'm in now has enough room for air to circulate at least a bit better and I can just put a fan in front of the AC vent and aim it at the stove.

remember; when canning..after taking the jars out..they need to be in a non drafty place to set up for 24 hrs..

if they are drafty..they may not seal properly..

Personally; I'd take the li'l stems off :)

I remove the stems on blueberries.

I have the veggies for Bread and Butter Pickles setting in the water. Jars are washed. So, tomorrow morning I'll finish them.

Momagain1, would you share your watermelon jelly recipe. I've heard of it, but never tried it. I bet it's a pretty color. Does it taste like watermelon?
