Earth Day is Wednesday April 22, and (National) Arbor Day is Friday April 24.

Does anyone have any special plans?

Yep, the original earth mother was born on Earth Day...well, they actually called it that much later, but it still reeks of irony to me!

I think some gardening would be appropriate. Gotta get those
seeds started. I'd like to plant some bushes too.

my boyfriend bought me an apple tree yesterday, I will probably be planting it. Some men buy flowers...............others buy trees

Give your boyfriend a big HIGH 5 from me. A tree is a great gift!!!
Thanks for the inspiration.

Actually how cool would it be to buy a bunch of tree seedlings and give
them to your friends on Arbor Day.

I was thinking of having a bonfire using all the old tires the landfill wont take anymore(without the $2/tire fee), so I have a pile that has to go. Since special days are Wednesday and Friday, I will have to wait for Saturday night.

I'll do what I always do, clean up around the pond at the end of my street, there's a convenience store nearby, and the kids (and non-adult adults) spew their trash all over the place down there. It's such a pretty spot, I clean it up once or twice a year.

Pay the $2.00 apiece to properly dispose of those tires - and don't let them build up like that in the first place.

Take those tires and grind them up to make rubber mulch. They are
using the stuff on playgrounds and flower beds now. It doesn't
break down and works great. Plus the smell of rubber adds to the
aroma of the flowers.
