What are you doing for Earth Day/ Arbor Day?

Happy Birthday! Mine was yesterday.

I'll be weeding in my garden, and trying to yank out Ivy vines on one side of our chicken house

ya need to get you some baby seal, spotted owl, and bald eagle and have a BBQ. i'd suggest some Alabama cave shrimp and Apache trout for that surf and turf effect... toss in some Elfin tree fern for garnish and you're good to go .

If you aren't interested in Earth Day, then why bother posting in this thread? There are many of us who are, no one is holding a gun to your head telling you you have to participate

I for one totally appreciate the sarcastic humor and got a great laugh from it. Maybe just maybe the poster is like me. I don't need a special day to do something good for the earth. I don't wait for a special day to garden either. I do it all season. Give a hoot, don't pollute is a good slogan for every day life.

Well, since I was going to start my garden today but it is like 40 miles an hour winds out there I will wait and start it tomorrow after I go to the weekly auction to see what they have there this week. I will take my goat out for a walk around the countryside if it's not too bad out. I love to walk with her and it's good exercise for us both. There are deer, turkey, and more we could see out on our walk

But that is all going bye- bye soon

They are building a huge hog facility where I see all the wildlife so I must enjoy it now before it disapeers.

chill out. nobody is holding a gun to your head to berate me either.

I am warning people to behave on the thread, telling a moderator to 'chill out' crosses the line - do not question moderation.

There have been a few threads like this in the past where bozos like
me have come in and turned them into political debates. I think some
people are getting tired of the negativity and sarcasm. So, I'm gonna
take Andy123's positive, non-political message and enjoy both of those
days, do something with plants, thank God for our planet, maybe plant
a few little trees, and work on a coop with a very cool chick. Life is good.

I have celebrated Earth Day for the past few years by changing one thing that will make a difference.
Year before last I got 15 cloth shopping bags and haven't taken any paper or plastic home since.
Last year I got cloth napkins and haven't bought any paper napkins (and very few paper towels) since.
This year I am going to a workshop on making your own green non-toxic cleaning products. And then will stop buying chemical type cleaners.
Not a huge thing. I am only one. But it makes me feel like I am doing something and am part of the solution.
