Gordon Lightfoot also had a great song in " Softly," No matter how often I've heard it, can't make up my mind if he is singing about a deceased girlfriend or just a "former" girlfriend.

Harry Belafonte does the same song, and I'm not sure about that either. But both versions are very, very good.

My favorite Gordon Lightfoot song is still Don Quixote. Lifeline is a close second. I saw him in concert about 3 years ago. I hope that he's touring because he wants to, not because he has to. He didn't look or sound good, I'm afraid.
