What are you paying for feed?

I just picked some up today:

Layer, Chick starter and cracked corn, all 50lbs bags ran me about $51.00
It usually lasts about 6-7 weeks...am i paying too much?

last weekend i paid 21.40 for 100lbs of layer pellet and 11.00 for 50lbs of oats and 10.00 for 50lbs of wheat, 10.00 for 50lbs of cracked corn

15.00 for 100 pounds of Layer here in Michigan. I buy from a local farmer in Lapeer "Howard Stack" my chickens were eating that high dollar feed from TSC and then I switched to the local stuff to save a few dollars. My chickens are laying better than ever now.

I guess I am pretty lucky, Mine will eat what ever I put out for them!

OMG $25 for organic feed! I don't even think I pay that much for the food I eat!

I was just at TSC yesterday to pick up feed.

I got....
1- 50lb bag of Layer Crumbles $11.99
1- 50lb bag of 20% Chick Starter $13.99
and a 50lb bag of Scratch $7.99

It should last me 2 weeks, maybe a bit longer.

The West Coast always seems to get hit hard by grain prices...

Layena 50# $12.95

some no-name 20% protein layer pellets (all soybean meal) $14.95/50#

Start 'n Grow $8.20/25#

Right now the feed store charges $13.99 for 50 lbs, or 27.98 for 100lbs.

The feed store gives us a 10% discount though because the kids are in a 4-H Poultry Program, so we would actually pay $25.18 for 100lbs.
