Here in sweltering South Florida summer is our harsh-weather season, so we tend to hibernate. Also, since we homeschool we have gotten spoiled by being able to enjoy the parks, playgrounds & libraries during off-peak hours and don't like their summer crowds. So we spend more time at home, inside with the AC on, and try to knock out a lot of school-paperwork. While closely following the weather reports for hurricane activity. This way we have more liberty to enjoy more leisure activities during the traditional school year, to celebrate all the holidays in more depth, to go out and explore the nature centers during our glorious Florida springtime.
