I ordered 10 buff orp pullets and a roo, and four eastern turkeys from a local hatchery due to come in May, I could have had them already, but I'm building a new coop and the weather here in northwest Indiana is horrific. I ordered twenty five Rouen ducks and 25 Pekins and 4 Chinese geese from cackle due in a couple weeks and I have 41 guinea eggs in the incubator. Wow after typing all that and putting it out there, I'm going to be real busy!
I have 8 chicks coming from mypetchicken.com the week of May 19! I know...it's a long wait! But I'm in the early stages of building a coop, so no rush.
My breeds are (one of each
):
RIR
B orph
Plymouth Rock
Easter egger
Bantam EE
BC polish
Austrolorp
Buff brahma bantam
I'll try to post a pic of my coop thus far lol
My chicks from Hoovers Hatchery shipped on March 12! I got them 2 days later on the 14th. One died from a hard trip, one drowned in the waterer which is very shallow and made for chicks, and one froze! I ordered 31, and I got a couple extras.
I ordered: 5 black sex links, 5 black australorps, 5 barred rocks, 5 white leghorns, 5 Rhode Island reds, 3 silver laced Wyandotte, 3 buff orpingtons!!
They don't come until the week of May 19. We are waiting for spring to arrive....seeing as how it just snowed 2 inches, I guess that was a good call...
I ordered from McMurray Hatchery for first week in May. I have 20 coming which includes pullets of 1 sussex, 1 BO, 2 EE, 1 GLW, 1 SLW, 1 Columbian Wyandotte,1 black jersey giant, 1 white jersey giant, 1 Australorp, 1 barred Rock, 1 white rock, 1 white orpington, 1 light brahma, 1 dark brahma, 1 deleware, and roos of 1 australorp. 1 BO, and 1 GLW and an exotic that they are throwing in. I am so excited! I can't wait for my babies to get here. It has been years since I did the chicken thing and decided to try again. I hope I have better luck this time.
