Okay I ordered Chicks from Murray for March 17 . yesterday I got a e-mail stating My Chicks have been mailed on March 14 .No phone call . I put a tracker on Them They arrived in Charleston WV on March 16 .Now it shows expected delivery date is March18. Five long days. Also the e-mail shows the package is insurance for $100.00 Everyone Please PRAY for My Chicks . That long travel and a Snow Storm on top of that. I'm really upset..

Wow - that sounds like a really long way and time in the cold. I am sorry. I hated losing 3 of our recent order. I really so wanted them all. I will cross my fingers for you.

Oh my gosh!!! I'm SO sorry! I have heard similar experiences, and sadly, had this same kind recently with my chicks. I'm not sure if with the weather USPS is just having issues traveling and shipping, but its pretty costly in this case cause its a tiny animals life. I hope they are safe and healthy. Murray will compensate for any animals for the first 48 hours, if you call they will credit the money to you. However, still doesn't make it any less harder IF that is the case!!

Well my wait is over! McMurray was fantastic and they arrived at the regional post office this morning. By 0800 (Sunday!) They had called to ask me to pick them up. I had no idea they had even shipped! Ordered 25 rainbow layers. Received 24 live, one dead. I'm very new to chick rearing, as this is my second experience and the first time not selecting the breeds. So I will be doing some detective work over the next few weeks!

Hi there! Please call mcmurray as soon as they open tomorrow! I can tell you that when I picked up my chicks on bellmawr this afternoon, the postal worker told me that there was a mix up in philly and Virginia's shipment of chicks had been sent to Philly then their post office. So she sent them back to Philly to be delivered to Va. She didn't say WVa though. I'm sure a more detailed record of their journey can be found by calling them. I'm so so sorry you have to be going through such trouble and I'm praying for your beauties!

YAY! That is so great!!! I'm glad your experience was such a good one!!!! And I see some barred rock, looks like you have some buffs in there, maybe a australorp too! Just some quick guesses looking in!! Congrats!!

if you look at the last but of my video i think you can see the paper plate with towel over it and waterer on it.. then my feeder.. i had to put white paper under the one side so they would stop pooping in it...

I put a tupperware container lid under my waterer with paper towels on it.. They still manage to get shavings in it though!

What is pasty butt? Is it when they have dry poop on their butts? And how do you treat it naturally with eggs

You can treat it by:

hard-boiling eggs, then you only use the yolk. You put the eggs in the pot, cover the eggs with water. Set it on the oven on high, for 8-9 minutes. This give you a yolk that is not to firm, soft enough for the chicks. After they are done boiling, take them off the heat and put them in a bowl with cold water. Once they are cool, peel, get the egg yolks, eat the whites yourself.
Mash up the egg yolk, I did 7 eggs for 16 chicks, not all of them have it. I sprinkle it in their food, you could buy a separate feeder for it though too. Some people say to feed as the sole pat of their diet.
The 7 egg yolks I had made about half a cup.. So I put in a half a cup cornmeal, and I put in about 1/4 cup black pepper. Basically, it is made my mixing equal parts, hard boiled egg yolks, dry cornmeal and black pepper. But we didn't have a 1/2 cup black pepper.
