WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WHAT DID YOU JUST RECEIVE?

Wife and I bought 4 New Hampshire and 4 Welsummer chicks at TSC this year..... We've had them about 3 weeks now. They are really growing.
First feathers are mostly in and they are very friendly... When we reach into the brooder there are a couple that hop right into the hand.

Our older hens don't know if they approve yet..... They're just cuter than a bug's ear, though....

Well today is hatch day for my babies! They will ship out tonight and I should receive them tomorrow! Here's what's coming:

Chicks:
2 Dominiques
2 Olive Eggers
2 Light Brahmas
4 Black Australorps
4 Barred Rocks
2 Buff Orpingtons
2 Cuckoo Marans
5 Easter Eggers
2 blue Ameraucana hens
1 blue Ameraucana roo
1 Meyer Meal Maker


Ducklings:
2 Jumbo Pekins
4 Rouens
4 Buff Ducks
4 Blue Swedish
4 White Pekins

We got about 8" of snow last night so hopefully they have an uneventful trip

God answered My Prayers! The Snow Storm missed Us and The Post Office called @8:15 this Morning. They had My Chicks . When I got in the Post Office I could Hear Chicks. I was thinking "Boy They got a lot of Chicks today "...wrong just Mine . I was afraid to open the box where it took that long ,but not one was dead

. As soon as I got home I got them out and gave them a drink I counted as I did this . I ordered 25 +1 free=26 here is some chicken math I counted 30. I even recounted 30 it is. I already had 4 little Leghorns and 2 Silkies. New Total 36

AHHH! YAYA!!!!!! That is such FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC news! hahahahahaha That makes me SOOOO happy!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went out this morning doing bedding change, cleaning water and feed, AND looked at each chick to do clean up. And noticed my cochins I THOUGHT would be white cochin.....surprised me cause their new wing feathers are BUFF!!!!! Yipee!!! Everyone has wing feathers now. There are some tiny, and they seem SO tiny compared to the others, but there are two they are little and look like chipmunks. I don't know what they are. No feathers on feet. Looks like some more googling this morning.

Dare I say it?? Its a GOOD Monday?? LOL

Todays Entry: Okay so today is the beginning of week 2 of having the chicks...seeing as how their brooder box needed a good cleaning i decided for some odd reason to do half sand on a lower level and do the pine shavings on the other side (the upper level) why did i do this? no idea? being creative maybe? lol.... not sure..

Lol! I love it! I have been trying to do the research on what would be better bedding once in the coop, if we want to do pine shavings or sand in there? Thoughts?

well the pine is messy but they love sleeping on it.. while the sand is less messy by the water and they love playing in it... hence i think why i changed it up a bit today.. we will see how it goes..

just put an order into Ideal for 15 white leghorn pullets for a friend and Ideal site says they wont ship till May 12th but i clicked the little box for them to call me if my order is available to ship sooner. these chicks aren't for me their for a friend that wants them but has no way to brood chicks so i offered to brood and raise them for up to 8 weeks and then i'll take them to her.


my parents think i'm crazy for wanting to raise more but i just love fuzzbutts.


oh and my ducklings ship out a week from today on the 24th...so excited!
