THANKS :) hehehhe for some reason i wanted to take pictures of them last night and upload them so everyone could see them.. they are starting to feather out.. (i can see bald spots now lol) im so excited :) definitely take pictures so i can see them!!
 
Bahahah so tonight we went outside and these weird bug things with wings were flying around we i stabbed em with my broom just to hold em long enough to grab em by the wings (7-8 of these) then dropped em in the brooder box.... bahahahah it was like watching a football game...one would steal it from the other running back and forth across the field.. till they had a moment to swallow it up.. just absolutely halarious.. even my husband and his best friend were out on the porch catching bugs with me bahahah funniest thing i ever did see..
 
So apparently I Have no self control and couldn't wait till next weds for my order to come in so I bought six bantams from tsc.... I'm bad, my poor family
 
Hey all: I see all these pictures of cute little chicks and wish I had started earlier :-\ I have ordered a total of 32 chicks from Mcmurray Hatchery but the soonest I could get all the ones I wanted together was the end of May :-\ I know the time will go by fast... it always does (looking back), but I guess it gives me time to get everything prepared as this is a first time for me. I ordered 8 each (7 hens and 1 rooster) of four breeds:Black Australorps, New Hampshire Reds, Buff Orps, and White Wyandottes.

I had wanted some Delawares also, but couldn't coordinate an order delivery date to include any. I hope they'll all get along as I'm hoping for eggs and meat as well as future chicks. So, I'll spend the next 2 months here on BYC trying to learn all that I can. This site has been fantastic so far! I need to learn how to use it as well lol.Always more to learn :)
