WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WHAT DID YOU JUST RECEIVE?

Well my order will go in tomorrow for my chicks this is what I am ordering:

Turkens: 10 pullets
Turkens: Cockerel
Buff Orpington Standard 5 pullets
Buff Orpington cockerel
Delaware 5 pullets

I already own 1 Turken hen so need more and a rooster, I also needed more Delaware pullets for my big man Trouble he only has 2 girls in his coop now. And my daughter insisted on Buff Orpingtons. 2 or 3 of the Turken pullets will be going to a lady in town. We will be the only people around this area with Turkens. So it may be a good thing.

I know I wanted the surprise box, but did some figuring and figured I was better off with adding in what I need first, Then maybe next month I will get the games. I haven't decided yet. Then if all goes well I can get things ready this winter for next springs surprise box.

I so can't wait to get the order done tomorrow.

My sleepy chicks... I'm in love!

Well, being a 'newbie' to chickens, and the fact that I'm just an 'ol senior citizen, single, blah-blah-blah, I knew building my own from scratch was impossible for me. Add to the fact that I'm only going to have 3-4 hens I opted for one of those kits, inexpensive, but will have to do some considerable tweaking to it to get it right...here it is!

With the help of a neighbor I'm going to raise the whole left side up about 2' and that so-called run on the right? It's history. Once I've raised it up I'll make a much better run, probably 8-10' long and much taller so I can get inside! :)

How adorable!!! I can't wait to get my chicks...they should be here on April 8th...got the brooder box all set up! WHEEE!!

You are ahead of where we were when we got our chicks! I thought we had last weekend to set up the brooder and then out farm store had SLW's and I couldn't resist! Lol so they were in a Rubbermaid for a few hours before hubby got home and set up the brooder! We had everything but it wasn't set up!
The rest of ours won't be here until Wednesday at the earliest, I am so anxious! Like a kid before vacation! Lol! So I know how you are feeling!

Now I am trying to decided how to integrate the new chicks! Suggestions anyone?? It wasn't well thought out! I'm thinking I will put the older chicks in a separate brooder for a few days and then putting them together? Any input is very welcome!!

I placed my order last week. No notice that they were out. I received a message that they would try to fill my order for the April 9th but due to the demand there is a possibility they won't be able to and that they would notify me when the chicks are expected to ship.

Iwiw60 can you tell me where you bought your coop?

Most likely because of Easter right around the bend. If they tell me it will take to long to get the chicks tomorrow when I try and order, I will try for the surprise box instead. I really wanted to wait on that, but if I can't get what I want and soon, I will go with a surprise box instead.
