Mine arrived today. Two Buff Orph, three silver wyn. and two black astraulop. My son (3.5 yr old) was super super excited.

I originally ordered through tractor supply and I am getting 31 chickes from Privett. I got 8 ameraucanas, 8 buff orpingtons, 5 cuckoo marans, 5 dominiques, and 5 white rocks coming around the 1st of may. I got the chicken fever and bought 6 partridge rocks and 6 production reds from tsc a week later and I ordered 10 silkies from ideal pouiltry and they ended up shipping me 11 extra RIR roos. I really want more but I know I can't

WoW! you must really have a lot of space. I live in the city and can only have a few. Wish I could get my hands on a Cream Legbar. I would get it if I could.

Here are some much better picks I took today of my five little girls. Only had them for 3 days but they're already getting bigger! I also decided on some names:

Babs

Carlotta

Elspeth

Isabeau

Pia

Girl slumber party!

I do I have a 4x 8 coop that I originally had and then somehow I convinced my hubby to convert a 16x18 shed into a coop. I'm subdividing it up into 5 spaces 4 of which will be coops, 3 coops are about 5 x 9 and i want the fourth to be 8x9. I got lots of space but 8 of the chickens I am raising for my parents until they get their coop built and roughly 20 will be for meat. Leaving me with about 40 including the chickens I had. I dontr want more because I really don't want to have more than 10 chickens per coop I like them to have space especially since they cooped up in the winter.

I am getting 10. I have this coop

It has 4 nesting boxes all together and is 5X8. I don't know if I should get more than 10. I want them to have room. I am getting 2 white Leghorn, 2 Plymouth Barred Rock, 3 easter eggers, 2 Cuckoo marans, and 1 mystery chick. I want them to be comfortable and happy, but I have chick fever! and want more.

That's really awesome. You have some bigger breeds so that size coop will be nice for them but I wouldn't go with much more if any. I love variety and all the colors so that's what got me the chicken fever haha. We don't eat a lot of eggs but I needed a hobby farm and it's a great way to have one. I will sell a few for a cheap price, Im not looking to make money just to sustain the chickens.

I have 20 chicks ordered from Cackle Hatchery. They are 15 Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben, 5 Golden Laced Cochins and 3 Blue Swedish Ducklings. I plan to pick up an additional assortment of whatever the feed store has of 5 chicks. I will post them all when we get them on April 28th!
