For company basically. They talk about stuffed animals and feather dusters on here - I just had a feather boa, so thought I would have it ready if needed.

Good morning! I'm waiting on a call from our post office this morning saying our chicks are there! We are expecting 2 BCM Pullets, 1 BCM cockerel, 1 mottled cochin bantam, 2 white silkies and 2 blue silkies. I'm so excited, its like Christmas morning.

Okay I just have to say that chickens math is a dangerous dangerous thing....
I started out planning on having between 4-6 chickens and one rooster. I figured if I bought them straight run and got 10 I would be able to get rid of any extra roosters and have at least 4 hens left.....
So I started sending emails and making calls and gathering supplies. I started looking on Thursday. By Saturday we had on offer for a few two week old Colombian Rock chicks and we had two breeders promising to hold some Easter Egger, Black Copper Maran, and Ameruacana chicks for us. I figured one or two of each....


We ended up with
4- two week old Colombian Rock Pullets
2- two week old Rhode Island Red Pullets - free from the Colombian Rock seller
2- one week old Ameruacana straight run chicks
4- one week old Black Copper Maran straight run chicks
5- day old Easter Egger straight run chicks

Dangerous dangerous chicken math....

I have an order in for 6 Araucana chicks. I drove a couple of hours from home yesterday and picked up 6 Ameraucana chicks Here are the babies...2 weeks old

They finally arrived!!!!

Thanks to USPS this morning I finally received my order from Cackle Hatchery.

3 Blue Swedish

15 Appenzeller Spitzhauben

5 Golden Laced Cochin

All arrived safe and chirpy. I received all of my order in fine condition plus one extra Spitzhauben. I was a bit worried as I followed my package on the USPS tracking website. It showed Left MO on 04-28 9:58PM and then it showed no activity until this morning when my phone was text blowing up telling me they were at my post office. The nice post lady delivered them to my door and I did'nt even have to drive into town. It was a good experience.

Yay, just got my tracking number!

I know you can't really use it the same way, but this means that they really are shipping on time!

Guessing Friday morning will be my delivery date.
