OH NO HE DID'NT!!! My brother in-law just agreed to have me help him build his coop and SPLIT an order of Bantams with him!! Chicken fever is contagious!

Congrats chick mama! It's so exciting to get your first chicks as well as your first hatchery chicks. I received my first hatchery order from Cackle at the end of last month. They all arrived very safely and with zero health issues. I am very pleased by how Cackle shipped and delivered my chicks. Even my extra chick made it. I have had minimal issues with them except for a few cases of Pasty Butt but with a little Apple Cider Vinegar and some daily butt cleans, that cleared up after a few days. Make sure you have some ACV on hand! Give them some pro-biotic for the first day then for the next two weeks mix their water with ACV and you should be okay. Keep an eye out for chicks with Pasty Butt and clear it up right away! I hope it doesn't happen to you but if it does all of us a BYC are here for advice!

Day they came in! All looking good and peeping like crazy!

Wow! He/she has gotten big over the past month.
I have the ACV with mother on hand, as well as electrolytes if needed.
I also have probiotics in the frig. I cut a towel into good size squares just
in case of pasty butt. Oh and I also put some seeds in to sprout to start them
on in a few days after I get them.
I'm ready! So glad to have all of you here for help I know I'm going to need it
because I wouldn't know anything if I hadn't been reading and asking questions over the
past month waiting for the chicks.

I just recieved 15 new chicks.. It was a mixed brown egg laying mix .. I am not really sure what I got they did not send me a list. From what I can tell from pictures in the catalog I may have some New Hampshire Red ,Buff Orpington, Barred Plymouth Rocks, and White Plymouth Rocks.. That is my best guess.. have to wait and see what happens when the feathers come in. I could spend all day watching them they are so cute.. All ready I see who is bossy and who is shy.. It is going to be a fun summer watching them grow.
