What are your other hobbies?

I have 3 teenagers, 13yo girl, 16 & 18yo boys. Have been married 20 years. I work full time at a school, but have the summer off!
I love to cook, knit, cross stitch (when I have time, which is rarely) read, hike. We live near the ocean and my son just bought a kayak, so I've been thinking about taking that up as well. My dh is building a great coop for our 3 chickens. I was hoping it would be finished tomorrow, but probably not at the rate we are going. I am also a Christian and have been very encouraged that there are so many at this site. I was surprised. Where I live, we are a minority.
I stream a Christian radio station out of Seattle on my computer at work, because there are no Christian stations in this area.

I'm like you. I'm 24 and I LOVE to knit and I started cross stitching when I was about 12. I don't cross stitch much anymore but I can knit a scarf in 2-3 hours easy. My momma swears if you cross stitch you'll lose weight because your using your hands for stitching and not for eating.

My biggest hobby is soap making. It's also my job. www.southern-essence.com.

Well I am glad to see that a lot of us have many things in common aside from chickens. Maybe thats why we get addicted to this forum. We can talk to people that share the same interessts.

Amen Kerr!!! And everyone thought I had a lot on my hands!! I wish I lived fairly close to you knitters, like isaid earlier, that is something I would like to learn how to do. I actually have a bunch of knitting needles and some really expensive yarns. They were givin to me by one of my sister in laws, A great aunt of hers passed away and she was left to clean out the house. And she thought that she was giving me cross stitch supplies:p Most of this yarn would make really nice sweaters, scarfs or hats. And most of it has price tags of 10 to 20 bucks on it. I have no clue that yarn could ever be that expensive. I have thought about passing it on to people who do know how to knitt. I just dont know of any body that does. So if I cant get it figured out I will be trying to figure out your guys mailing adresses and then shipping you guys a box filled with it. I have to be careful of just keeping things, or I will end up like my parents. They are big collectors of anything and every thing. They get something going when I get time I will use it, they have crap that they have gotten and planned on using but never have and it there is a bunch that has been around longer than myself. So ya I am thinking hard about giving it to some one who knows how and loves to do it. then I will have more space to keep things that I already know how to do. Some day I am going to figure it out, but it will probably be very far down the road.

I read a lot, I've been an avid reader all my life. Right now I'm reading Roma by Steven Saylor, it's a novel about ancient Rome. After that I'm going to start rereading all the Harry Potter books so I can finish them before the new one comes out. I'll have to borrow them from my oldest daughter, who also just reread them all. I passed the reading gene on to her!

I teach school at a small Christian school. My youngest daughter also attends school there. It's interesting to read all the posts about homeschooling. We get a lot of students who have home schooled in the past and they usually do very well in our school. In fact, the kids who have been home schooled are some of the best behaved kids, IMHO.

Anyway, I love teaching at my school because I can pray with my students and talk to them about God. It's really neat to teach Science and be able to give God the credit for His marvelous creations!

Amen to that!!

I raise and race homing pigeons. I also enjoy kayaking, fishing, sailing, kite flying, scuba diving, Bee keeping and treasure hunting (metal detecting). My wife wants me to find "A" hobby.

Amateur Radio, Geocaching, and I am active in our Full Contact Checkers League. I did metal detecting for 25 years, but my knees have convinced me to give it up.
