Cogburn.  This is really a title more than a name as the boss bird of the hen yard is always Cogburn.  The last couple of incarnations have been RIRs with a Barred Rock before them.

At the moment we have:

Jacque le Coq - Cuckoo Maran
Fred - Barred Rock
Cicero - White Leghorn
Black Jack - Jersey Giant
Shadow - blue Silkie

My daughter's Silkie roosters are Big & Little Blue.  I want her to call them Jake & Elwood.

In the past we've had Noodles - big EE rooster - and Thing One & Thing Two - Red Sex Links.   Been a lot more cock birds than just those, but mostly they don't get named.
Been a long time since i posted to this thread. Jacque le Coq disappeared (coyote likely), Black Jack and Shadow checked out. Sold my daughter's Silkie roosters. Haven't named any more since then until recently when I acquired three Wheaten Ameracaunas for my Easter Egger project.

I've taken to calling them The Elizabethan Gentlemen: Drake, Hawkins, and Raleigh as they remind me of the gentlemen wearing those ruffs around their necks in Elizabethan portraiture. Being young cockerels they act like pirates anyway...

My past boys have been, Rufus, Clark, Moe, Sargent, Crooked Toes, Rocky, Larry and many with no names. (I almost forgot Chester.)
The named ones are my breeding boys. Now I have Nemoe, Curly, Newton, Lucky, Shemp, Rusty and a few with no names right yet. (I almost forgot Rudy)

I just sold my rooster, his name was Chester. I really miss him. He was a really sweet boy. He was a black Ameraucana.

I have blue wheatens in the incubator. I just might try keeping a rooster again. I need a boy to watch the sky.

Ancient and wise, our handsome, reserved, dignified Old English Bantam mix's name is King Alfred, after my favorite daffodil. We do call him Alfie. We love him a lot!

Jeth-roo was my BO rooster. He was a mean fella once he matured and I used to have to carry a stick to protect myself if he was free ranging. Sadly, he met his demise with a coyote...I was probably going to have to get rid of him anyway, but I didn't want him to go that way...RIP Jeth-roo.

Frodo is our 8-week-old mutt (BR, EO, Jersey Giant). Wasn't sure I wanted a roo again after my first experience, but he was one of two roos my broody hatched, and the kids talked me into keeping him. He's a spunky little guy...and already trying to run the show with the hens!
