What books do your kids like?

Ursala Le'Guin's Earthsea novels are good
David Eddings Belagariad might also appeal, although these are not written for teens, the reading level and material are appropriate.
The Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer are very popular, although my kids haven't gotten into them
The Warrior series for the nine year old are also popular, I see lots of kids with them (not my kids)

My 5 yo D loves the "Andrew Lost" series. I read a few chapter to her each night. We also liked the "Capitol mysteries", "A-Z mysteries" (same author) She also likes Walter the Farting Dog. Yes, low brow humor always tickles the funny bone.

For the 10 yo, I am going to support all the "magic Tree House" references. It is a great series. The Box Car children is also fun to read.

My 11 yo just finished the Harry Potter series and is working on the "Last Olympian" series. We also like stuff about dragons. I would recommend the "Eragon" series. It is a bit wordy but an interesting read.

I personally enjoyed the junior dragon series. The Last Dragon Chronicles, by Chris De'Lacey

Those barnes and noble book cards burn holes in my pockets too.

I went back through the post and someone mentioned the Guardians of Ga'hoole. This is a FANTASTIC series! I would recommend this to anyone who likes science fiction and mystery. Just a great series.
