What brand of feed do you give your chickens?

:) I hope you'll like it here. It's a great place with lots of nice people.

I have tried all the feeds. I just happened to get Manna Pro this time because they were out of Nutrena. Well, my egg shells turned into beautiful smooth shiny stuff. I am suprised that this happened , I just didn't know Manna tha well.

If I lived up north, all I would use is Blue Seal. My horse was on it most of this life, and he died at the age of 37. I'm not joking. Blue Seal surely kept him healthy.

Nutrena is about all I have found around here at $14.50 for 50# bag. I now have 13 hens and I am now going through a bag every couple of weeks. They are not free ranging right now, but they do get a little scratch thrown in and some black sunflower seeds.

I buy the Atwoods brand of chicken feed. I buy their starter/grower crumbles for my 10 weekers and wild bird/game feed for my guineas. I also buy their brand of scratch.

We don't have a lot of options around here

Edit: I've heard (based on your replies) that Purina is a pretty good brand. I went to my local feed store, but they only sell one brand. It's called Kruse' Perfection. Is that a good brand? It's my only choice. The ingredient are okay, except they put a powerful chemical preservative called Ethoxyquin in it.

I use Nutra Source Gamecock Maintainence, $15 for 50lbs. I feed it year round. I have never had any problems with hens laying. And, I run it through a grist mill before feeding it to chicks.

It would cost 23 bucks for a 50lb bag of Nutrena layer
But I mix my own feed for me girls.
I live in Guam (usa territory in the western pacific)
Feed is expensive here, every thing is about 23 - 25 for 50lb
