What breed and gender are these two youngsters?

I got these two birds from our local feed store in the grow-out run at *maybe* 6 weeks old. I know that one is a barred rock, just unsure of the sex. In the second photo, the barred rock in questuon is standing next to a known pullet of the same age. The white-headed chick, I am completely clueless as to breed and gender. Any help would be appreciated.

One down, one to go. Any thoughts on the barred rock chick? I forgot to mention that either spurs or buds are starting to form on the legs. I can't tell if they're full-on spurs yet

Well, the coloring says pullet but those thick legs and that tail make me think it may be a cockerel. That pattern and build looks more like Cuckoo Marans to me.

Yes, the legs and tail feathers are what is throwing me off. That and what may be spurs coming in on the legs.

No I don't know the age for sure. The employee that sold them to me said maybe 6 weeks - 2 months old.
