What breed and gender is my chicken?

Considering this chick was hatched by a fellow poultry owner, it's likely to be a mixed breed. :) Neither Meyer nor My Pet Chicken (I believe the latter is a middle man that is partially supplied by Meyer) offer Blue Copper Marans hatching eggs. All that aside, your little one is absolutely stunning!

Thanks so much! The person we bought it from bought a random selection of chicks from a hatchery I’m not sure where. We live in Florida so I’m not sure what big hatcheries there are here.
You're very welcome! :)

Just wanting to confirm: this individual hatched the chicks themselves, or bought all as day-olds?

More in detail: They bought the fertile eggs online. They were shipped in a box to the person. The person then hatched the eggs for a class he did for children. He didn’t need the chicks after they hatched so he gave them to us.
Hope that helps.

Thank you for answering my question! :) In that case, mixed breed is still a possibility, depending on which hatchery we're talking. Businesses like Meyer and Murray McMurray are more into the pure breeds, while My Pet Chicken offers just about every cross under the sun. I guess we'll know more as the chick grows! :D
