You may be able to help that poor little meat bird by moving the feeder and waterer to opposite ends of the pen. she'll get more exercise that way. The others are up on their feet, but meat girl is laying down half way between the waterer and the feeder. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Their coop is actually on the other side and that's why I have put the feeder as far as possible to make the meat bird to walk to the food in the morning. She does sit down a lot after walking, really can't do anything about that as fat human also like to sit down instead of standing. She does follow me but I just scared if I force her to walk a lot it will case damage to her knees. It is really sad to see her getting fatter every day. As my incubator break down only she survived from the 12 broiler eggs. When it is only one it becomes special and really hard for me to eat it.

Just because she is a meat bird you don't have to eat her. You may decide to give her to a less fortunate family to feed. I think that would be nice. Or "help her" before she is suffering too much and bury her.

I finally got to the bottom of this mystery chicken.
She is hen first of all.
And she is super super super broody.
Literally went to brooding every month. It takes me one week to break her brooding and she will lay eggs for 3 weeks then go back to brooding again. Looping infinitely despite it is winter.
I will let her to become a mother next spring, very exciting.

By the way, she is a crossbreed between a golden silkie rooster and a light Sussex hen.
Very surprising but not that surprise to realising she has the blood from silkie :)

p.s. I killed my meat girl when she is 4 1/2 month old. She became too big. Her wings were injured by the small coop door and her legs cannot support her weight anymore. She limped and always sit down when her mates are playing and enjoying their life. There is no good life for her so I killed her. Feel really bad as she was such a nice girl always runs to me and let me pet her :(

I'm glad she'll be able to have babies! I have Silkies that are brooding as well.
