The chicken in question is obviously the one that doesn't look anything like OEGBs. It is also older than them

Not a Gold Sexlink...GSL's have yellow legs, red base feathers with white trim and varied amount of white lacing.

She is a mix. Hard to say what. Possibly game and layer. You get 3/4 size birds with that combination that are neither game-ish nor heavy built like a layer.

I assumed the thread line rather than looking closely...I agree with Donrae...not sure it is female. That's a lanky body for that much comb which indicates youth and male hormones.

It could explain why it hangs so much with the senior roo, trying to subordinate itself to him.

Mixed breed definitely...and yes...depending upon age....I think possibly male as well.

Time will tell.

I know that it could have EE in the line somewhere. It came from a mixed flock so I know it's mixed but was wondering if it had one more dominant breed than the others.
So more male than female??
